Bad, bad blogger!

Well, 4 months since my last post! That's just insane. I guess it just proves how busy we are with baking, the boys, and my recent return to work. It's too bad maternity leave can't last forever.

We are still working with Brown Bag Massage, where a few hundred clients each week enjoy our Double Chocolate Chip cookies. Thanks to Ray and the Brown Bag crew for keeping us busy!

In September, we were at the Independents' Day festival. It was incredibly fun and I got to hang with my buddy and super awesome graphic designer, Jody.
I met some really fun people and was even lucky enough to be next Jon and Jane, two people who set up a "Free Hugs" booth. It was really fun seeing what a difference a hug and a cookie can make in someone's day.

In October, we partnered with Crossroads Christian Academy and sold 60 dozen Pumpkin Chocolate Chip and 20 dozen Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Chip cookies at the Circleville Pumpkin Show (the largest free show on earth!). We already have plans to work with them again next year.

In November (tomorrow! Nov. 7), we will be at Cypress Wesleyan's Holiday Craft Bazaar with Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies.

We are planning on a very busy holiday season and we would love to help you with your baking! Order via email (killerdoughcc@yahoo.com) or on our website www.killerdough.com and have them delivered just in time for your gathering.
Or, order gifts for anyone on your list---babysitter, mail man, hair dresser, work buddies, or anyone else! I can guarantee that our cookies are not something that will be re-gifted.

Busy, busy!

Thank you to everyone who has recently placed an order! We are keeping busy with a steady stream of orders over the past few weeks and several already placed for the middle and end of August.
Delivering gifts has been really fun. I love seeing the expression on someone's face when I tell them I have a cookie gift for them. In the past week, I delivered gifts to a newly expectant mother, a mommy and her brand new baby, and to a family who has a child in the hospital.
It's a great feeling to know that I've been able to help surprise someone, whether that be to offer congratulations or a get well message. No matter what the occasion, it's rewarding!
As always, we welcome customer feedback! If you've recently placed an order, please, tell us what you think! Starting a new business is unknown territory for us; we welcome any comments that you have for us. We want to make sure we are offering the best product and that you are left happy and not hungry!
Also, please feel free to send photos of folks enjoying our cookies. We need something to look at on this blog!

Project Peanut Butter!

Our charity for May and June was Project Peanut Butter. As promised, we are donating $1 for every batch of Peanut Butter or Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookies that were ordered in May and June. There were 10 dozen sold, so we're donating $10 on behalf of our fellow cookies monsters, and we'll match it to make a 20$ donation.

Any ideas for what the charity for July and August should be? Email us at killerdoughcc@yahoo.com if you would like to nominate a charity!

In other cookie news, we are shipping quite a large order to Washington STATE! Who would have thought that after only 8 weeks in business we'd be sending cookies all the way across the country? It's very exciting!

And, one more thing:
This blog needs some photos! Send us pictures of you enjoying our cookies and we'll post 'em (with your permission, of course). Send any photos to killerdoughcc@yahoo.com .

Another busy week lies ahead---I think we have about 30 dozen to bake, in addition to the orders for Brown Bag Massage. That's a lot of baking!

Need a massage?

Starting the week of July 13, we're partnering with Brown Bag Massage ( www.aprilmassie.com )!
If you haven't been before here's the deal: After your wonderfully relaxing massage, they send you off with a brown bag. Inside you'll find a bottle of water and a Killer Dough Double Chocolate Chip Frosted cookie. Talk about a yummy treat!
We are very excited to work with Ray and April on this new partnership. If you've never been there, book an appointment soon. They have a ton of massage therapists, great hours, awesome last-minute specials, and 2 Columbus locations. I go whenever I can (thanks, Robin, for always making me feel GREAT!)

6 weeks since last post...oh my!

So, what's new?

We have a new logo! Thanks to Jody Hewitt, a wonderful and super easy to work with graphic designer! She asked what we liked and what she came back with was exactly what we wanted and MORE. She must be a mind-reader or something because she nailed it!

The website is super close to being done. We think that is going to change a lot for us and make it a lot easier for people to place orders. We still appreciate the phone calls and emails though---614-851-8282 or killerdoughcc@yahoo.com. The website is killerdough.com.

We've baked just over 100 dozen cookies in the past 6-7 weeks for family, friends, and referals.
Just last weekend we delivered 29 dozen to Akron for parties, friends, and family. I am happy to report that all of the cookies arrived safe and sound---with one exception. My dad, only the coolest guy in the world, found a lonely box of Oatmeal Raisin cookies. He claims to have not seen the recipient's name on the box, and took it upon himself to give eat some (it was Father's Day, after all!). Talk about a Cookie Monster! We are sorry Kathy! Your new batch should be there today! I promise, it won't happen again.

Anyway, it is incredibly exciting to see things start to take off. We can't wait to see what the future holds.

So far, the overwhelming favorite is good 'ol chocolate chip. However, the fun flavors like banana chocolate chip and pumpkin chocolate chip are gaining popularity. Try them and we promise that you'll have a new favorite, too!

I hope that's a sufficient update for the time being.

Hey there!

Wow! What a week. Just last week, we started taking our first orders. We didn't have the packaging, logo, or website quite done, but the people that we already told about Killer Dough were starting to ask questions. We figured, "what the heck? Let's start taking orders!" Give the people what they want, right? And, who doesn't want cookies?

It's been less than a week and we've got orders for about 20 dozen cookies. We are pumped! I am so excited that I am dreaming about baking cookies! I am getting a little obsessive about checking our current order inbox, killerdoughcc@yahoo.com. Once we have the website up and running, we'll be able to take orders there. Right now though, the good ol' fashioned email route is kind of fun.

We've got lots of plans for Killer Dough Cookies including a Cookie of the Month where part of the proceeds from that cookie will go to charity, a different one for each month of the year.
We also have plans to host Cookie Parties so that people can taste our 12 recipes, bring friends, place orders, and take cookies home, of course! There are lots of other ideas in the works, so check back to see what cooking---or baking!
